Most of the people from the Center's surrounding area have a low level of education and some are addicted to alcohol. Because of this, many children tend to drop out of school. A very high percentage of these children don't have preschool education. By the time they start the first year of school, they don't have the skills required to meet teacher expectations. These children are more likely to develop deviant behavior: vagrancy, pilfering, begging, violence, drugs and alcohol addiction, prostitution and sexual abuse. This is why we decided to help some of these children as much as we can. Hopefully they can do their homework in a friendly, warm, Christian environment. Many of them have a tense atmosphere at home and parents that don't value education. It is also essential to make the parents more responsible and aware of how important school education is for their children's future. About 35-40 of the poorest children who attend our clubs participate.
